Foundation Crew

The role
As a Foundation Crew member with Northpower, you will help with digging and making access tracks, crane pads, and concrete coverings around power line structures. You will also prepare sites and fix parts of tower structures. This role reports to the Supervisor and is based at our Hamilton Depot.

You will need to demonstrate the following:
- Handle landowners' issues and queries about EMF and NZECP34
- Plan, schedule, and manage maintenance activities
- Prepare regular reports on completed work
- Arrange and conduct cable stand-over duties
- Conduct audits to ensure work complies with the Act
- Professionally manage complaints and conflicts to achieve positive outcomes for both landowners and Transpower

What we’re looking for?
Ideally, you’ll be working on a variety of exciting projects and be someone who enjoys getting stuck in to get the job done. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:

- Background as a civil worker with proven experience in excavations and concrete work
- Full Class 1 driver's license
- Class 2, 4, 5, and tracks endorsements are an advantage but not essential (must be willing to work towards and gain)
- Excellent safety record with good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate 5-ton to 21-ton excavators and tractors
- Experience in heavy labour and enjoyment of working outdoors
- Good literacy skills to read and understand construction plans
- Reliable, good communicator, and have a safety-first attitude
