Our Auckland operational office
is looking for Four experienced and qualified Line Mechanics to join their
friendly Faults team primarily as members of the Second Response Crew.
The Role
Reporting to the Delivery Manager, Reactive
Resourcing as a 2nd Response Faultperson you will carry out repairs on the electricity
distribution network, test, and earth equipment.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Construction
and maintenance of electrical lines to customer and Network requirements
- Install and replace electricity network pole structure and overhead
conductors
- Ensure relevant field paperwork, incident reports, inspection documentation,
asset information and other
relevant paperwork are completed
- Repair
Or recommend remedial work
- Documenting faults and testing
- Be
mindful, be present, be safe for yourself, workmates, customers, the public,
networks, and the environment. Continuously assess situations for the safety of
yourself and your team members achieving 100% compliance with HSQE requirements according Northpower’s, Network owner’s and client’s industry standards
We are looking for someone who treats safety
as a priority and has great team ethics. You will be on a 12hr shift and be willing to be part of our faults standby roster which includes evenings and
weekends.
This role will involve liaising with the public, so your passion for quality customer
services will be well displayed. This is

About you
We’re looking for an
experienced Lineman with a strong safety record. You’ll be working on a variety
of exciting projects and will have to do 12 hrs rostered shift, callouts, and weekend work. You will be
comfortable working alone out in the field and be a part of team. To be successful in this role you will
demonstrate:
- NZ Distribution Line Mechanic qualification with a current NZ EWRB Practicing
licence
- Solid experience as a Line Mechanic and have minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Line Mechanic
- A full, clean Class 2 NZ driver’s
licence (essential) and Class 4 will be
an advantage
- A great work attitude and willingness to be part of a diverse team along with
a strong focus to health & safety
- Effective communication skills and ability
to work under minimum supervision
