The Role (6-Month Fixed Term):
You will be responsible for supporting the analysis and reporting of data
collected from overhead power distribution and transmission network
inspections, with a primary focus on desktop analysis of field-captured data.
You will work closely with
Acoustic Inspection Engineers and Drone Pilot Asset Inspectors to process and
analyse data, including Thermal Infrared (IR) imagery and pole-top photos. Your
tasks will include defect identification, photo analysis, and assisting in the
interpretation of inspection data. You will also contribute to the preparation
of detailed inspection reports and annotations.
In addition to desktop analysis,
you will support engineers and pilots in the field during inspection
operations, providing assistance with data collection and operational
logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and process inspection data, including thermal IR imagery and pole-top photos.
- Identify defects and assist in creating detailed inspection reports.
- Collaborate with the inspection team to source information and solve problems.
- Support engineers and drone pilots during field inspections.
- Ensure all equipment and PPE is maintained, tested, and compliant.
- Communicate openly with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing positive customer experiences.
- Prioritize health, safety, and environmental compliance in all activities.

About You:
- Recent graduate in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Surveying, Civil, or related fields, OR have prior electrical experience such as trade or technician experience. Other engineering disciplines will also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel across New Zealand.
