The Role:
We are excited to announce an
excellent opportunity for a Communications Technician based in Tauranga, created as a result of work we've
secured with Powerco. As a Communications Technician, you'll provide technical management and
support, scoping, and planning assistance, ensuring that all works are
completed safely and effectively.
In this role, you will:
- Provide technical support and expertise for
high voltage substation works, ensuring compliance with industry standards
and safety procedures.
- Work closely with management to plan and scope
jobs, identify influencing factors, and ensure tasks are completed on time
and within budget.
- Deliver technical input for estimating
maintenance and capital works, ensuring accurate pricing and efficient
planning.
- Lead and supervise teams, ensuring safety,
productivity, and the highest quality of work.
- Promote continuous improvement through process
enhancements, efficiency gains, and safety measures.
- Be accountable for Northpower property and
ensure that equipment and PPE are well-maintained, compliant, and fit for
purpose.
- Uphold and comply with Northpower's health,
safety, quality, and environmental standards, while proactively addressing
risks and issues.

About
You:
We are looking for a motivated, safety-focused individual with technical expertise in high voltage substation environments.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven technical experience in high voltage
substation work.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards, codes of
practice, and industry requirements.
- Strong leadership and team-working abilities.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and
written).
- A current NZ Driver’s license and current Work
Place Competency (WTC) as required by the role.
