We are a leading electricity

energy solutions to our customers and are currently seeking a talented Trainee
Network Controller to join our team.
The role
In this office-based role as a
Trainee Network Controller, you will follow a structured and
mentored training plan progressing into full time Relief Network Controller
position supporting Northpower’s 24/7 Network Operations Centre requirements.
Progression into a competent Network Controller comes with an expectation to be
available to support shift duties including rostered back-up support.
Requirements of the role include:
- Support the shift Network Controller with maintaining accurate records of all calls taken, reported faults, HV switching, system alarms, load control switching, and the location of line staff working on or near the distribution system
- Monitor the loading of the reticulation system and make necessary adjustments as required
- Allocate fault repair tasks to the faults team and liaise with the Inspection Team when necessary
- Support the Planning Team with any overflow of workload
- Perform any other duties as reasonably required

Who we’re looking for
You may be a qualified
Electrician looking for a different career pathway, a graduate engineer who has
a keen interest in the electricity distribution industry or someone in an
existing electricity distribution role looking for a new challenge. As a Trainee
Network Controller, you will naturally present with great character, have an
aptitude in computer literacy, an eagerness to want to learn and work in a team
environment.
- As well as the above, we are
looking for people who possess the following:
- A good understanding of computer systems
- The ability to openly and clearly communicate on a Radio Transmitter or Telephone
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and be able to do shift work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
