As an Asset Information Technician, you will play a crucial
role in updating and maintaining Northpower's core asset data systems. You will
work closely with the Asset Information team and other internal teams to ensure
accurate and timely updates to comply with customer, regulatory, and company
standards. Additionally, you will be involved in data quality improvement
initiatives and collaborate with contractors and designers to create clear
construction plans.

The opportunity:

our success. As an Asset Information Technician, you will role model success in
several technical and people functions:
- Perform
data entry tasks, updating network information into core systems from
maintenance plans, as-builts, and data sheets, - while following business
rules and processes.
- Ensure
accurate and timely completion of updates to comply with Northpower
customer, regulatory requirements, and customer standards and policies.
- Improve
existing data through research into Network records and maintain data
accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Identify
potential problems and solutions, responding effectively and quickly.
- Collaborate
with team members to resolve issues and strive for consistent approaches
towards building a reliable source of asset information.
- Respond
efficiently and professionally to customer queries and requests, taking
ownership of the outcome.
- Coordinate
with contractors, project managers, and field staff to accurately enter
proposed and newly installed assets in the asset information systems.
- Suggest
improvements to safety systems, work practices, procedures, or standards
that will enhance overall business performance.
- Ensure
compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards,
reporting incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate
in special projects related to system development and integration.

Who we’re looking for:
To be considered for this role you will naturally be a team
player and possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as:
- Proven
data entry skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience
in data QA and reconciliation.
- Familiarity
with GIS and experience using data or map viewers is desirable.
- Previous
use of CAD software preferred
- Exposure
to asset management data or systems would be advantageous.
- Previous
experience working in a utilities environment is a plus.
- Ability
to interpret and capture data from plans, survey sheets, and as-built
drawings.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong
problem-solving skills and a meticulous approach to tasks.
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated
commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Eagerness
to learn new skills and contribute as a valuable team member.
