About the Role:
As a Design Engineer- substation, you’ll be responsible for
delivering effective design services for substation assets and providing expert
engineering and technical support. You’ll work closely with internal teams,
contractors, consultants, and industry groups to ensure our substation designs
meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare
and review detailed substation designs
- Manage
consultants for conceptual and detailed design work
- Ensure
compliance with company and industry standards
- Apply
safety-in-design principles across all projects
- Provide
technical advice and support for substation assets
- Support
procurement, commissioning, and resilience planning
- Assist
in developing network standards and asset contingency plans
- Collaborate
on hardware and technology selection
- Contribute
to continuous improvement and performance delivery
About You:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+
years of industry experience, ideally in substation design
- Strong
understanding of power systems, protection, and control
- Excellent
communication and technical writing skills
- Experience
working with contractors and managing contractual arrangements
- Commitment
to safety leadership and environmental standards
- Analytical
skills in risk management and root cause analysis
