We are looking for an experienced Service Desk Technician to join our Whangarei based Digital Service Desk team and help support our growing technology landscape.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑focused role where you’ll provide IT support across the organisation, making sure our people have all the tools they need to succeed.
About the role:
In this role, you will provide day‑to‑day IT support across
the Northpower environment, resolving incidents, managing service requests, and
supporting users across a wide range of hardware and software platforms.
You’ll work closely with other Digital teams, building strong relationships with internal users and external vendors while contributing to a positive and reliable support experience.
This role is onsite and includes rostered shift work and on‑call responsibilities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing
responsive IT support to internal customers
- Troubleshooting
and resolving incidents and service requests
- Supporting
end‑user devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and
peripherals
- Delivering
in‑person and remote support across the organisation
- Maintaining
accurate documentation, asset records, and knowledge base content
- Assisting
with purchasing, inventory management, and coordination of ICT equipment
- Supporting
Digital initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities
About you:
- 2+
years’ experience providing IT support in a Microsoft environment
- Strong
knowledge of end‑user device support, including mobile devices (iOS &
Android)
- Comfortable
building, configuring, and supporting workstations
- Experience
with Microsoft 365 and core Office applications
- ITIL
experience or familiarity (certification is an advantage)
- Strong
troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- A
customer‑focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A
team player who adapts well to change
