About the role:
As a Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, pricing, planning, and tendering services that contribute to our ongoing success. Based at our Auckland Depot and reporting to the Design Engineering Team Leader, you’ll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficient, safe, and high-quality outcomes.
- Preparing work methodologies and ensuring all designs and pricing are
peer-reviewed prior to submission.
- Providing technical expertise and advice to stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and
internal teams.
- Conducting site visits to scope projects and prepare accurate tenders.
- Preparing precise pricing, tender documentation, and project records.
- Producing CAD construction and as-built drawings to specification.
This is a role where you’ll own your work, with opportunities to grow into a senior-level position as you gain experience and demonstrate success.

- Experienced Design Engineers or Estimators in the electricity distribution
industry.
- Practical field-based professionals looking to transition into an engineering
role.
- Recent electrical engineering graduates eager to learn and grow.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering, power systems, and distribution
networks.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Great communication skills – both written and verbal.
- A full, clean NZ driver’s licence.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with a focus on safety and
quality.
- Comfort working with diverse teams and stakeholders in a multicultural
environment.
- A sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
