About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to support
the day-to-day operations of our line crews and ensure the safe, efficient, and
compliant delivery of field work. This is a varied, hands-on role that includes
site attendance, switching activities, and the preparation of works to ensure
successful completion in the field.
You will play a key role in supporting crew
performance, maintaining high safety and environmental standards, and ensuring
all work meets contractual, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and coordinate the
day-to-day operations of line crews, including site attendance and switching
activities, to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently. Ensure all
assigned contract jobs meet Northpower requirements and performance targets
across health and safety, environmental compliance, cost control, delivery
timeframes, equipment functionality, and accurate record keeping, while
maintaining full compliance with all relevant New Zealand legislation,
regulations, standards, and specifications.
Lead and promote a strong safety
and environmental culture across field operations by providing effective
leadership, guidance, and support to crews. Plan, coordinate, and oversee the
delivery of jobs and projects, monitor progress in the field, and proactively
address issues to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the
required quality standards.
About You:
You are a confident and capable leader with strong technical knowledge and experience in the New Zealand electricity distribution industry. You are practical, organised, and able to communicate clearly with crews, stakeholders, and clients.
Experience:
- Proven experience supervising or leading teams in
a field-based environment
- A strong record of health, safety, and
environmental compliance
- Experience planning and delivering jobs or
projects
- Knowledge and experience in high voltage
distribution systems within the NZ electricity industry
- Mechanical and/or technical knowledge of high
voltage electricity networks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
(written and verbal)
- Confidence using computer systems, including
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project
