About the Role:
As our Delivery Manager – Eastern Logistics based in
Tauranga, you’ll lead warehouse and logistics operations with a clear focus on
service delivery, safety, and continuous improvement. You’ll oversee inventory
accuracy, transport coordination, performance targets, and team development while
maintaining a strong presence on the floor to support daily operations when
needed. This role leads a large, diverse team, drives operational excellence
and supports business growth through scalable systems and processes.
This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll be
responsible for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, optimising inventory
management, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external
stakeholders.
You’ll be accountable for:
Inventory & Warehouse Excellence
-Leading warehouse teams to consistently achieve high service standards
-Ensuring precise inventory management, including stock monitoring, cycle counts, and annual audits
-Proactively eliminating stockouts by analysing usage trends and adjusting min/max levels
-Identifying cost-saving opportunities and reducing obsolete or slow-moving stock
-Overseeing logistics, warehousing, and transportation for internal and external stakeholders
Performance & Operational Delivery
-Meeting and exceeding operational, regulatory, and customer requirements
-Driving performance targets and solving problems quickly and effectively
-Ensuring depot compliance, security, waste management, and recycling initiatives
-Maintaining high standards across all operational areas
People Leadership
-Managing and mentoring direct reports, delegating work based on team strengths
-Providing ongoing performance feedback and coaching
-Creating an environment of open communication and accountability
-Linking daily performance to broader business outcomes
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
-Conducting internal audits and Gemba walks
-Driving improvements in safety, inventory accuracy, and operational processes
-Ensuring full compliance with HSQE requirements, industry
standards, and environmental regulations
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a confident decision-maker with a proven track
record in logistics leadership and operational environments. You understand how
to balance strategic oversight with hands-on support, and you’re comfortable
working across teams and stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
-Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics (or similar)
-Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse/inventory/logistics management
-Experience leading multi-skilled teams and driving performance
-Strong working knowledge of JDE or similar ERP systems
-Forklift licence and Class 1 driver’s licence
-Solid understanding of continuous improvement practices
-Strong communication skills and high-level computer
literacy
