Visitors welcomed to community solar farm
In November, Northpower welcomed visitors to Te Puna Mauri ō Omaru solar farm across two open days—one for schools and one for the community.
Over 300 visitors, including students from Ruawai Primary School and Ruawai College, were treated to guided tours of the farm, hands-on learning activities and games, and giveaways.
The guided tours of the farm gave our visitors the opportunity to hear and see how the site is supporting a more resilient energy future for Northland.
Thank you to our contractor North Drill for hosting the sausage sizzle at the community open day.
Te Puna Mauri ō Omaru is New Zealand’s first large-scale solar farm that is community-built, owned and operated.
