Annual Report 2026
28 May 2026
Across the year, our people led a series of events recognising cultural diversity and strengthening connection across the organisation to celebrate Matariki, Chinese New Year, and Diwali.
These moments created space to pause, learn and honour, reinforcing our commitment to an inclusive workplace where people feel valued and respected.
Matariki provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection and renewal, with our teams from the Auckland depot gathering for a shared breakfast and the Rotorua depot meeting for a meal including a hangī cooked at the local Marae.
Through karakia, waiata and storytelling, teams reflected on the year that had passed and set intentions for the year ahead.
The celebration highlighted themes of change, growth and nourishment, including the introduction of a new community food pantry (Pātaka Kai) and the decision to rename Auckland meeting rooms after the Matariki stars, embedding learning and reflection into everyday working life.
Interactive spaces encouraged remembrance, gratitude and goal setting, supporting connection across teams.
Diwali was marked by our Whangārei and Auckland teams as a celebration of light, learning and togetherness, providing space to honour the traditions and backgrounds of our colleagues.
Through shared food, storytelling and ceremony, teams connected over the values of renewal and hope, strengthening unity and appreciation across our diverse workforce.
Cultural celebration continued with Chinese New Year, as our Auckland depot came together in a vibrant and welcoming environment transformed by festive decorations and traditional performances.
Strong participation reflected the importance of recognising cultural heritage and creating shared experiences that build understanding and community across the organisation.
Together, these events reflect Northpower people and their cultures.
By creating opportunities to celebrate different traditions and experiences, we continue to build a workplace grounded in inclusion, respect, and belonging.
