Hot water advice
Need help with hot water?
Here’s some helpful advice on what to do and who to contact first if you find the hot water in your home isn’t working.
Contact us first!
Before contacting an electrician or plumber, please contact us first.
We can help you to identify the problem over the phone. Before you call us, please check the following:
- is the switch on?
- is the circuit breaker or fuse ok?
- is water leaking out of the overflow or tap?
Who pays to fix a fault?
If it’s found to be a Northpower network fault affecting your hot water supply, we will fix it for free.
However, if the fault is not caused by our network, you will need to engage with a plumber or electrician to repair the fault at your cost, which is why it’s important to check with us first.
No hot water after a power outage?
If the power has been off for several hours and you’ve been using hot water the cylinder will need a few hours to reheat again.
If you’re still having any issues after this time, please contact us.
