Both students are currently studying engineering at the University of Auckland and have demonstrated strong academic performance, ambition, and a commitment to the future of New Zealand’s energy sector.

Their passion for engineering began early. Michelle’s curiosity grew from taking apart household electronics, while Zachary developed an interest through building and experimenting. Both have since strengthened their skills through study, internships, and research focused on real-world challenges.

Through its partnership with Aruhiko PEET, Northpower is committed to supporting emerging talent and providing pathways into meaningful, hands-on experience.

Looking ahead, both scholars are motivated to make a positive impact, contributing to reliable, sustainable infrastructure and solutions that benefit communities across New Zealand.
