Collaborating with Pacific partners
Northpower welcomed representatives from Te Aponga Uira, the Cook Islands’ electricity generator, distributor and retailer, for a focused technical visit aimed at building capability and strengthening our partnership.
The visit centred on practical experience and knowledge exchange. The team from Te Aponga Uira spent time alongside Northpower crews observing 33kV cable installation and jointing works in action as they prepare for an upcoming project at home. From cable hauling demonstrations and jointing processes to the use of advanced fault finding technologies, the experience highlighted Northpower’s technical capability and commitment to safe, high quality delivery.
Beyond the technical programme, we covered risk management, industry collaboration through Electricity Engineers’ Association membership, and the systems and structures that support complex network operations.
This engagement reflects our broader approach to working alongside regional partners — sharing knowledge, building capability and supporting resilient electricity systems across the Pacific.
