Harnessing data to drive business excellence
We continue to examine our business practices and develop data driven improvements to achieve outcomes more efficiently.
Our business excellence team collaborates to develop data-driven improvements to Northpower’s business systems and processes.
They work with functional business teams to map out key metrics using the Microsoft tool Power BI, to create visual representations of data and foster a deeper understanding of what can be changed to achieve better outcomes, driving data-based decisions.
Leveraging a global tech network for Northpower
Allison Kennedy, our Reporting & Data Insights Analyst a valued member of our business excellence team, is also a recognised Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional).
As a Microsoft MVP, Allison is part of a global community of technology professionals who work together to solve problems and share knowledge. She contributes her expertise to help improve business processes for companies throughout New Zealand and overseas. In return, she can tap into her fellow MVP’s insights.
Innovation and data capability
As an MVP, Allison plays a role in keeping the business updated on the latest Microsoft innovations. She receives early access to Microsoft products while they are in the development stages, with the opportunity to test the products and provide feedback to Microsoft.
Allison is passionate about raising the proficiency of all Northpower teams to become skilled in using data analytics to enhance daily operational performance. A teacher at heart, she holds regular Power BI training sessions to fulfil this vision.

Double the fibre speed
