Helping our customers save on electricity bills

As the network owner, Northpower is committed to reducing energy hardship for our customers in the Whangārei and Kaipara regions.

To address energy hardship, we launched our Home Energy Education Programme in 2022 through a partnership with Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s Support for Energy Education in Communities, Ecobulb, and local community assessors mostly from local hapu.

Community-based assessors visit our customers’ homes and give friendly advice on how to make some serious savings on power bills by installing LEDs and efficient showerheads as well as advising on suitable retail plans.

Our Home Energy Education Programme has enabled an estimated $3.78 million in annual electricity savings for households since starting in 2022.

Stay Safe Together campaign with Mitre 10 MEGA

Partnering with Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei, Northpower expanded its Stay Safe Together campaign, embedding safety messaging into everyday customer experiences.
