Northpower Fibre launches equitable broadband

Northpower Fibre has recently introduced a new residential digital inclusion product to help low-income households access broadband services at an affordable price.

The offer reflects our focus on practical action to improve digital access for low-income households within our network footprint. It is designed for eligible households that already have fibre box installed but have not had an active connection for at least three months or more.

The offer is targeted at households facing financial barriers to connectivity. This includes people living in public or community housing owned or leased by Kāinga Ora — Homes and Communities or another registered community housing provider, as well as households with children enrolled at schools with a school equity index of 490 or above.

Households that are eligible can access a high-speed fibre broadband service through participating retail service providers at a significantly reduced price which is less than half the standard rate.
