Northpower Fibre turbocharges internet speeds
Faster internet has arrived to thousands of Northlanders on the Northpower Fibre network as we have upgrade popular residential plans.
Northpower Fibre, operating in the Whangarei and Kaipara Districts, has quietly been delivering the upgrades, joining a nationwide effort to give New Zealanders significantly faster broadband. The upgrade, which boosts popular residential fibre plans to much higher speeds, was rolled out to over 18,000 Northpower Fibre consumers in June.
Northpower Fibre is coordinating upgrades with all the residential Internet Service Providers on the Northpower Fibre Network, with residential consumers on Northpower Fibre’s most popular plans receiving faster upload/download speeds. Plans that were 50/10 Mbps are changing to 100/20 Mbps and plans that were 300/100 Mbps are now 500/100 Mbps.
Northpower Fibre are planning for the future by monitoring demand and providing fibre broadband users the experience they expect. This means more reliable connections, quicker downloads, smoother video calls, and better online TV viewing for homes with multiple devices.
The project has been a high-speed success story, with over 15,000 upgrades completed in just seven working days and the remainder completed by the end of June. The Northpower Fibre Boost is a part of a New Zealand wide fibre boost.
“It’s a major win for our community,” says Northpower Fibre GM Darren Mason. “We’re essentially giving people greater bandwidth and speeds.”
