Annual Report 2026

Welcoming new team members to deliver for Powerco

In May 2025, Northpower embarked on our largest recruitment and onboarding programme to employ new team members, after we were awarded one of Powerco’s primary field services contracts.

Our goal for the recruitment and onboarding programme was to put together strong teams to carry out maintenance and repairs across Tauranga, Mt Maunganui, Coromandel, South Waikato, Taranaki, Whanganui, Rangitīkei, Manawatū and Wairarapa regions.

To get the programme underway, our People and Capability team, alongside key members of our leadership team, hosted meet and greet sessions with interested applicants. We then moved to 100 interviews which included pre-employment medical checks and provided an opportunity to connect with candidates and introduce them to Northpower’s team and culture.

To welcome the successful candidates, we hosted an induction programme. The programme covered health and safety, role specific training, our organisational culture and practical field readiness, as well as welcome addresses from both Powerco and Northpower leadership teams.

“It was a real privilege to see the Northpower team come together to welcome our new team members into the whānau. A huge welcome to all those who have joined us as we embark on this new journey with Powerco,” said Chief Operating Officer – Energy Services Josie Boyd.

With our teams in place, Northpower is now positioned to deliver safely and reliably across the new regions, strengthening its partnership with Powerco and supporting communities through a co-ordinated, region wide service model.
