Encouraging STEM in Northland primary schools
The Northpower Epro8 sees primary school teams from around Northland use their problem-solving skills and knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) to compete.
This year’s winners included St Francis Xavier Catholic School and Ngunguru School as overall 2025 champions, St Francis Xavier Catholic School who won Year 5-6 interschool final, and the Ngunguru School team who won the Year 7-8 title in their grand final.

Nurturing local business growth
The Northland Business Awards, organised by NorthChamber and powered by Northpower and Top Energy, are an opportunity to honour business excellence in Northland.
Award entrants are given Business Coaching New Zealand coaching, which includes pre-entry workshops, entry review prior to submission and review of any feedback from the judges.
The 2024 winners were recognised for showing excellence, including their ability to improve standards of business in their industry, showing adaptability in shifting business environments, and putting local people and communities first.
