A pivotal opportunity has become available for an experienced Treasury Accountant to join our team in support of the assets and liabilities intensive corporate business.
You can be based in any of our office locations- Auckland, Whangarei or Hamilton.
The role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for executing daily treasury
operations, monitoring cash flows, and ensuring compliance with financial
regulations and Northpower treasury policies.
Your expertise in financial analysis, risk management, and liquidity management
will contribute to the financial stability and growth of our organization. You will also:
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement, building
and maintaining trusting relations with banks, auditors, and financial institutions
- Analyse financial data and be insightful to drive the treasury activities to support decision making
- Develop treasury procedures, documentation and assist in the implementation
of treasury initiatives and projects to achieve business objectives

About
you
This
is a busy role with tight deadlines. It goes without saying you will be
resilient, have a high degree of integrity, drive for achievement and
comfortable dealing with people at all levels. To be successful in this role
you will have proven experience ( 2+ years) in treasury
management or related financial acumen within a
complex working environment.
You will also demonstrate the following :
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- CA/CPA certification preferred ( be at least in the final stages of
obtaining CA/CPA)
- Strong knowledge of cash management principles, banking operations,
and financial instruments
- Demonstrated proficiency in
financial analysis and Advanced Excel
- Natural affinity for strong collaboration and building relationships to
influence positive outcomes
- Robust problem solving and numerical skills
- A keen eye for detail that ensures accuracy in financial analysis
- Excellent communication skills ( written & verbal)
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet able
to work self-directed
- You will be someone with the aptitude to foresee challenges, read situations,
champion best practice, prioritize tasks
and meeting deadlines
