Terms and conditions for the Northpower Winter Readiness Campaign promotion running Monday, 1 June 2026 – Friday, 31 July 2026.

1. Promotion Overview

The Winter Readiness Campaign promotion for Northpower Limited (‘Northpower’) will run from Monday 1 June 2026 to Friday 31 July 2026. This promotion offers participants the chance to complete a Winter Readiness Quiz and enter weekly prize draws to win $100 Mitre 10 MEGA vouchers, as well as a grand prize draw to win a Winter Readiness Pack valued at $890.

2. Eligibility

The promotion is open to;

• Individuals who are residents of Whangārei and Kaipara districts aged 18 years and over.
• Are not current employees of Northpower or Wellscot Hardware Whangārei Limited trading as Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei (‘Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei’), nor a spouse, de facto partner, parent, child or sibling (whether natural or by adoption) of such an employee
• Are not professionally connected with the promotion

3. How to Enter

To enter the prize draw, participants must:

• Complete the Winter Readiness Quiz in full at northpower.nz/get-winter-ready
• Provide accurate contact details (first name, last name, email address and phone number)
• Consent to receiving the prize if selected as a winner
• The same person may enter once per weekly draw. Multiple entries by the same person in the same weekly draw are not permitted. Only one prize per person will be awarded during the promotional period.

4. Prize Details

Weekly Prize Draws:

Weekly $100 voucher prizes (donated by Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei) will be drawn throughout the campaign period (9 weeks total).

Major Prize Draw:

• One major prize pack will be drawn at the conclusion of the campaign
• The major prize is a Winter Readiness Pack valued at $890 (including a variety of Mitre 10 MEGA essentials like torches, batteries and a first aid kit)
• All completed entries received throughout the campaign period are eligible for the major prize draw

5. Prize Draw Process

• Weekly prize draws will occur each Friday during the campaign period
• Winners will be selected randomly from all eligible entries received during the previous 7 days
• The major prize draw will take place on Wednesday, 5 August 2026
• Winners will be contacted via email within 3 working days of the draw
• Winners must respond within 7 days to claim their prize
• If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 7 days, a new winner will be drawn.

6. Prize Collection

• Winners will be notified of prize collection arrangements via email or phone
• Prizes must be collected within 30 days of notification
• Prizes can be collected from: Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei, 46 Porowini Avenue, Morningside, Whangārei 0110
• Winners may be required to provide photo identification upon collection
• Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash, or substituted for alternative items

7. Personal Information and Privacy

Personal information collected through this promotion will be used solely for:

• Administering the prize draw and contacting winners
• Sending occasional promotional and safety information from Northpower (participants may opt out/unsubscribe at any time)
• Personal information will be handled in accordance with Northpower’s Privacy Statement.
• By entering, participants consent to Northpower and Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei using their name and image for promotional purposes if they are the recipient of prizes
• Personal information will not be shared with third parties except as required to administer the competition and prize draw

8. General Conditions

• This promotion is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternatives
• Northpower reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and the validity of entries
• Northpower reserves the right to disqualify any entry if fraudulent activity or tampering is suspected
• Northpower reserves the right to modify or terminate the promotion at any time without prior notice, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority
• Prizes are subject to availability and may be substituted for items of equal or greater value at Northpower’s discretion
• Northpower and Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei accept no responsibility for late, lost, or misdirected entries
• Northpower and Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei are not liable for any loss or damage suffered by entrants as a result of participating in this promotion

9. Publicity

• Winners may be asked to participate in promotional activities (eg. social media mentions), but are not obliged to do so
• No further identifying information will be published without express consent

10. Liability

• To the extent permitted by law, Northpower and Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei exclude all liability for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by entrants in connection with this promotion or any prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law
• Northpower and Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, or providers, or software failure that may affect the receipt of entries

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from this promotion will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By participating in this promotion and completing the Northpower Winter Readiness Quiz, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

14. Quiz Information

• The Winter Readiness Quiz is educational in nature and designed to promote awareness around power outages
• Quiz results do not affect prize draw entry eligibility
• Northpower may use aggregated quiz data (without personal identification) to inform future safety campaigns
• The quiz contains 11 questions covering winter weather readiness, storm safety and outage procedure topics
