This annual high school science fair encourages STEM activities and paths of study at high school.

The Fair is open to students in Years 7 – 13 and is well supported by schools across the region. Students choose an exhibit topic which is set to challenge their imagination and encourages the development of investigative and problem-solving skills. Several past winners have continued to pursue their interests in science and technology through their tertiary studies.

Northpower sponsors a number of award categories including the Year 9 Award, the George (Hoori) Tuhiwai Memorial Award and the Consistent Excellence Award which recognises consistent efforts over three science and technology fairs and awards the recipient with $1000 towards tertiary education.
