Northpower is committed to keeping its communities safe and well‑informed. With new outage data becoming available and improved mapping technology, Northpower saw an opportunity to improve the overall customer experience, especially during large weather events. The new Outage Centre provides more regular updates, better visibility of all outages – including planning, unplanned, electricity and fibre – and more ways to stay connected.

Yes. The Outage Centre shows electricity (both planned and unplanned) and fibre outages in one location, making it easier to see what’s happening across the North power network.
We recommend always going to the Outage Centre first, if you have access to a computer or phone, for up-to-date and detailed information, including affected areas, reason for outage, outage status, number of customers affected and expected restoration time. This will ensure the 0800 number stays available for people without access to the internet, or and those wanting to report an outage. This will help reduce call wait times during storms or major outage events.
If your power is out and you don’t see an outage listed on the Outage Centre, please contact Northpower on 0800 10 40 40 and report the outage.
