About the role:

We’re looking for a skilled Electrician to join our Whangārei team, supporting the maintenance and reliability of our electricity distribution network.

In this hands-on role, you’ll use your electrical expertise to respond to faults, carry out repairs, and help restore power safely and efficiently. You’ll also be involved in switching, testing, and ensuring equipment is operating at its best.

This is a great opportunity to step into a dynamic, field-based role where no two days are the same especially during our busy season and where your work directly impacts the community.

Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out fault response, repairs, and network restoration
- Performing switching, testing, and earthing activities (training provided if required)
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with regulations and standards
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver reliable service
- Providing a professional and customer-focused approach when working in the field

You’ll also participate in an after-hours standby roster (including evenings and weekends).

About you:
You’re a qualified Electrician who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is keen to grow your experience in the electricity distribution sector.
What we’re looking for:
- Registered Electrician with at least 3–5 years’ experience
- Interest or experience in fault-finding, maintenance, or network work
- Switching experience (or willingness to learn)
- Full driver’s licence
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship
- Willingness to be part of the standby roster
